“Can i practice VR at home?”​

Answer: Yes, once you create your OMS account, you will be able to run scenarios from your home laptop/desktop running Windows or MacOs. You may also install the OMS software on your home VR headset. If you would like to purchase your own VR headset, check out this model.

“Do I really have to enroll in a B or C lab course?”​

Answer: Yes – if you are wanting to practice your skills over and above your scheduled CNSLs. You can not use the Learning Labs if you are not registered for a B or C course.​ If you need an add code, contact Amy.Vermillion@rcc.edu

“I thought I signed in, but my hours aren’t showing on aPlus+ Attendance”​

Answer: It’s ok - email Isaac Dannelley Isaac.Dannelley@rcc.edu with the date, time in/out, total number of hours, and your student ID so your hours can be manually added to aPlus+ Attendance. ​

“Do I need to fill out the Nursing Learning Lab Course Log?”​

Answer: Yes – you must log all activities (in-person and online) on your course log for each lab course enrolled. You must meet the course hour requirement and have a completed Nursing Learning Lab Course Log to earn a Pass for the course. ​

“Why are my hours showing zero in Web Advisor ?”​

Answer: Unfortunately, WebAdvisor and aPlus+ Attendance don’t communicate. Your hours in aPlus+ Attendance on Canvas are the most accurate. ​

“Will my A, B, or C course have its own separate Canvas page.”​

Answer: Yes - along with a separate syllabus.​

“Do I need to complete a Nursing Learning Lab Course Log for my “A” hours?”​

Answer: No, these activities are in your “A” course syllabus and all hours and activities are accounted for. You must complete 27 hours and all course assignments to earn a Pass.​

"Can I go to the Digital Library and earn my lab hours?"​

Answer: The digital library can only be used to earn online hours for “B” courses. ​

“Do I need a faculty signature when I do on-campus lab hours?​”

Answer: Yes – each time you are on campus to complete lab hours, you must obtain a faculty signature verifying your attendance. This is in addition to signing in on the aPlus+ Attendance kiosk.​

“Do I need to be in uniform when I attend the open lab?​”

ANSWER: No – however, you need to make sure you are dressed in appropriate attire to care for a patient.​

“What do I do if I fulfill all of the hours for a course I am registered for, but still want to use the lab for practice?​”

ANSWER: You need to register for another course. You may not continue to complete hours in a course over and above the required hours for the course.​

“How do I check the number of hours I have completed?​”

ANSWER: You need to go to your lab course Canvas page and click on the aPlus+ Attendance link on the Course Navigation column. ​

“If I volunteer for Riverside Free Clinic, vaccine clinics, or health fairs, can I count those hours towards my face-to-face hours?​”

ANSWER: Yes – the faculty in charge of those events will send your name to Isaac. Please indicate which lab course you want the hours to go into. You must also include these hours on your log but don’t need a signature. ​
